Chai & Sunshine

Hi, I'm Haimi!

I write about real, messy, personal growth and share relatable content on health, careers, travel and relationships.

No fluffy pieces. No picture-perfect platitudes. Just 100% authentic sh*t.

About Me

Chai & Sunshine was born from a world of chaos. One minute I was on top of the world,

and the next…

well, let’s just say Life said, “Hold my Chai, girl”.

Twins, unemployed, living with my parents AND depression threw me for a loop.

But hey, sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to finally look up, right?

Chai & Sunshine is for you if...

You Have Big Dreams

...and aspirations but ultimately crave a deeply meaningful and fulfilling life.

You Want Something Real

You value true, authentic connection, real talk, and honesty over the illusion of perfection.

You're Ready for Change

...but you want to do it sustainably. (No get-rich-quick or lose-weight-fast schemes here!)

You're Practical

You’re not looking for lofty advice or fluffy platitudes, but real experiences to navigate an increasingly complex modern world.

You Like Nice Things

You appreciate well-crafted content that is informative, engaging, and a pleasure to read.

FAQs

This isn't my first blog - I actually started one called "Hard Way to Happy" in 2020. It's a long story why that one didn't work out but I had always intended to go the blogging route again.

The reason behind choosing to blog when I could have made easier money elsewhere?

Passion!

I love writing. I love "lifestyle-experimenting". I love deep conversations. Blogging offers all three. And after a decade of doing things I was not quite passionate about, I was ready to follow my dreams.

I have a Honours Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Cape Town, a Master's Degree in Complex Systems Engineering from Paris-Saclay University (as the top student), and an unfinished Master's in Management from LSE. Although these may sound impressive, I do not have a passion for engineering. I used to be very good at things I didn't like.
